Business’ Assistants

by Jocelyn Fernandez in Admin Support, Human Resource, Virtual Assistant

Virtual Assistants or VAs manage both online and offline works which are now in huge demand from entrepreneurs and businesses. A VA can assist a business owner “virtually” or online. They find this line of work challenging and fulfilling because, every day, there is another task to be assigned and no two days are the same.

There are things a VA does. Some of these are the following:

VAs can initiate meetings and reply to emails. They can also schedule social media posts and book events for businessmen. This job can earn a lot but is rarely talked about in society. Lots of freelancers take this job aside from other jobs. However, you must possess high organizational skills.

The content writer is another job, but it takes a lot of concentration because you need to create a concise and quality output. The job is not easy, you should learn and speak different languages to communicate and deal a wider range of clients with different characteristics.

An Average payment per hour for a Virtual Assistant ranges from $12 -$15 but depending on the tasks you do, you could easily earn $30+ per hour. Being a VA, it allows you to work anywhere, either home-based or office-based, as long as you are working under the surveillance of the company you belong to. Additionally, you must work on a flexible time schedule either during the day or at night, or whenever it is convenient for you.

Being a virtual assistant has no specific training. There is no required certification or course to make you qualified as one. You need to obtain your own skills that may be needed for 2-3 assigned tasks at the same time and needed to be fully equipped in order to deal with that job. You need to be synthesized, computer literate, a great researcher and have excellent communication skills, to say the least. The great thing is that you will able to attain these skills if you are willing to learn immediately and stay organized. You also need to manage your time properly and keep a good network for your resources in times of need.

It is absolutely worth mentioning to a potential client if you have specific skills or experiences like with social media, project management, or bookkeeping. Some clients look for this special line of expertise. You can make a one-page resume to showcase your skills and any relevant experience that would create a great impact when you aim for jobs. Assess your own skills and see what you can utilize more to be that Virtual Assistant a client would definitely invest in.
